Johnson Crigler Heritage
We have a rich and lasting legacy as a Family, and we hope the 2019 JCFR hi-lighted this heritage. In order to continue informing ourselves, we've dedicated this page to providing continuous information and documentation regarding Family history.
If there is any information that you believe would be beneficial to educating others about our legacy, please share the info and we'll add it here. Remember, the Legacy lives in YOU!
Johnson-Crigler Collection of Family Recipes and Memoirs
We've added a copy of the JCFR East Coast cookbook. Here you'll find not only recipes, but a list of the Johnson Crigler lineage traced back to the 2nd Generation. This list goes up to the 7th Generation. Take an opportunity to learn your lineage and learn your family cuisine! So download it!
Johnson-Crigler Family History
If you want to learn the in depth story of the Johnson Crigler Family, then read this wonderful family biography. Written by Connie McFarland Butler in 2017, with a 2019 Revision, you'll discover stories about plantation life, the family farm, and newly discovered ancestors. This is a must read by all family members, but especially for those under the age of thirty. Now that you know, knowing is half the battle!
JCFR Oral History Video
This video consists of a group of oral interviews with members of the Johnson Crigler Family which originated in Mississippi. The Johnson Crigler diaspora spread from Mississippi to St. Louis, Chicago, and South Bend initially. The Family has grown to have members in a number of states. The interviewees recount growing up as a member of the family, migration to other states, activity in the Civil Rights Era, and how family names have been passed down.
